Tin since 1912

1From the original Brussels foundry…

It was in 1912 that Laurent Stoop created his first tin foundry in Jette (Brussels). In its original facilities, it prepared tin and lead alloys and cast various products (printing lead, anti-friction white metals, rods and solder wires) similar to those we still produce today. In 1938, it moved to Vilvoorde.

2to recycling…

The activity took a decisive turn in the 1990s, when the arrival of offset printing definitively relegated printing lead to the ash heap of history. The decision was also taken to turn to waste refining to ensure the sustainability of the business.

3 to today’s advanced technologies

This shift towards recycling was confirmed a few years later, in 2003, when the company joined forces to create Fenix Metals, the most specialized tin recycling and refining centre up to that time. The tin waste and scrap we now buy is earmarked for our Fenix Metals facilities, and it is from these same facilities that the company's various products are sold today.

Certified sustainability

Sustainable development

Stoop NV contributes to sustainable development by recycling industrial production residues containing tin through environmentally responsible processes with the aim of producing refined metal for reuse by industry. The production of these metals from efficient recycling has a much lower environmental impact than a primary extraction process and is in line with our vision of protecting natural resources while offering first-class products.

Guarantees

In order to guarantee the sustainability of this responsible philosophy, all aspects of our activities are certified according to the highest standards. En savoir plus
